The Ambassador does not have many amenities but it is in a great location and you’ll be able to do things in Macedonia that are near the hotel. This is a good feature to look for while searching for hotels in Macedonia.

While looking for the beautiful and famous places to visit, in Skopje, one can visit Lake Maka or go see the ancient ruins of Daut Pasha Hamam, one of the oldest structures still standing.  Another one of the discount hotels in Macedonia is the Hotel Vila Silia.  It only has five rooms available but it is all it needs since the tourism is not as popular as say somewhere in Western Europe and not many tourists frequent these places although some times are quite high on tourists.
 
In both Skopje and Ohrid, there are plenty of tourist attractions and activities that one can do while staying there.  In Ohrid, you can take a tour of the lake or hire a tour guide to help you see the city.  One could also go to the Plaoshnik or the Sveti Naum Monastery which are historical religious sites.  There is a great discounted hostel in Ohrid called Apartment Blue. 

Hostels are much like hotels in Macedonia, except smaller without many amenities.  They are actually more like apartments European style.  Apartment Blue’s rates start off at 18 dollars USD.  You can find this information on online. But anywhere you stay in Macedonia, it will be pretty cheap because the rooms are very tourist friendly with not too many luxurious amenities at any of the cheap hotels in Macedonia unless you go for the Embassy suites.
