Arkansas flag consists of the colors: red, white and blue. Red is the base color with a diamond shape right on the center of the flag. The diamond has borders in color blue. There are about 25 stars located inside the blue border. The word "Arkansas" is placed on the center of the white diamond. There is one blue star located on top of the word and three stars right below the word.
The colors of the flag are in consonance with the design of the United States' national flag. Arkansas is one of the fifty states. As to the 25 stars, these stars symbolize the fact that Arkansas was the twenty-fifth state that was admitted as to the union. In relation to the blue stars, they represent the three different countries that Arkansas in the history and up to present belong: Spain, France and lastly United States. The fourth star located right on top of the word "Arkansas" signifies the state's former membership in relation to Confederate States of America. |
