The flag of Bahrain had undergone some revisions. The flag had two designs that came before the current one. The oldest flag was plainly red but it was in 19th century that a white stripe had been added. The triangles that were serrated, this feature were added with regard to the white strips in order to make a distinction in relation to the flags of the other neighboring countries of Bahrain.
The current flag of Bahrain was officially adopted on February 14, 2002. This was done right after the declaration of the Emir of Bahrain that the country will be a kingdom and that he will be king. It was in 1971 that Bahrain gained independence from the British. |
