The designer of the original Bangladesh flag was a painter named Quamrul Hassan. It was on March 3, 1971, the initial version of the original was being raised for the first time in Dhaka University. There was the map of Bangladesh located at the center of the red circle. On 1972, the map was then removed out from the flag. The reason was it will be difficult to have the map be correctly placed on both sides.
Bangladesh is a young country. In 1971, it gained its independence from Pakistan. The flag of Bangladesh was officially adopted on January 17, 1972. |
