Flags of Bangladesh

The flag of Bangladesh has the colors green and red. The base color is green and the center is a red circle. To examine carefully, the circle is placed quite near to the left side. The circle is done in this manner so that when the flag of Bangladesh is raised on a mast the circle will then appear that is placed right in the center. Bangladesh base color green signifies the greenery of the country associated with its youthfulness and vitality. The circle placed slightly on the left, represents the blood and rising sun with the blood being shed in order to get independence.

The designer of the original Bangladesh flag was a painter named Quamrul Hassan. It was on March 3, 1971, the initial version of the original was being raised for the first time in Dhaka University. There was the map of Bangladesh located at the center of the red circle. On 1972, the map was then removed out from the flag. The reason was it will be difficult to have the map be correctly placed on both sides. Bangladesh is a young country. In 1971, it gained its independence from Pakistan. The flag of Bangladesh was officially adopted on January 17, 1972.
