Flags of Brazil

The geographic significance of this country is it shares its border with every country in South America except Chile and Ecuador. It is the fifth largest country in the world. Almost half the Brazil’s territory is covered with Amazon River basins and its tributaries. The Brazil’s flag has three colors in it, green, yellow and blue. The flag of Brazil can be pictorially described as it has a dark green back ground with yellow diamond shape, which represents the sky in the night, studded with stars. There are twenty-seven white color stars, which are five cornered. Each star represents a state and federal district. The stars are arranged in such a way that it represents the sky on November 15,1889, the date when the last emperor was deposed. A phrase “order and progress” is used across the sphere, which is inside the diamond. The colors used in the flag of Brazil can be interpreted as, green represents the royal house of Braganca and yellow represents the royal house of Habsburg. The flag was adopted on November 19, 1889.
