Flags of Cambodia

There were 8 different flags were used as the national flag of Cambodia since 1863. The Cambodian flag has three stripes and the middle one is larger than the blue ones which are at the top and the bottom, however, the middle stripe is red with the Angkor Wat in the middle of the flag. There are different things that the flag symbolizes that speak a lot about the country, the color blue is dedicated to the royalty of the country, nation of Cambodia is represented by red and white is referred to by religious sentiments of local people, namely Brahmanism and the Buddhism.

From1863 to 1948 (Kingdom of Cambodia under French protection): Though Cambodian flag came into existence in the year 1863, it was time before it started to be used again, the actual flag was outlined with blue border and middle was red with the Angkor Wat in the middle. However, it started to be used in the year 1948. Cambodian flag has gone through several changes, and the current Cambodian flag was adopted in 1993. The flag has been in use since 1948 till the year 1970, however, later when the monarch was overthrown the flag was not used, it is now that the flag is used regularly as the national flag.
