Cameroon is a state is in Tropical Africa. Its capital is Yaunde.
The national holiday is on 20 May, and it is a Day of proclamation of republic (1972).
In 1961 the former French Cameroon and part of Britannic Cameroon was united in the new state. There is relative stability in Cameroon, that allows normally developing agriculture, roads and railways, and also an oil industry. In spite of the democratic motions, political power confidently remains in the hands of the ethnic oligarchy. Cameroon is often named “the Heart of Africa”. |
