The state flag is a rectangular canvas, parted on three vertical strips of identical sizes - green, red (in the middle) and yellow colours. On a background of a red strip (in the centre) the five-ended star of yellow is placed. Accepted in 1975 the green colour symbolizes the forests of Cameroon and hope, red is independence, and yellow is a sunny savannah. The star means a unity of the country.
