The design of the flag of Connecticut is inspired from the symbol of the Saybrook colony, which was established in the year 1639. The seal of Saybrook had 15 grape wines in it. In 1644 the colony was taken over by the Connecticut colony and the number of grape wines were reduced to three from fifteen. The flag of Connecticut was originally adopted in 1895 and then it was re adopted on June 3, 1897. Connecticut was the numbered five among the United States of America. The Connecticut became a state on 9th January 1788. This state too is one of the earliest state that came together to form the USA.
