Flags of Croatia

Croatian flag is one of the most peaceful flag which gives a great deal of attention to its people, their nature and the sacrifices done by them. Croatian flag like any other flag of a Slavic nations contains colors typical to these countries, namely red, blue and white, these colors are used in the horizontal stripes of red color top stripe, middle stripe of yellow color and the lowest is blue colored. The state emblem is very attractive, it is a weave of red and white like a checkers, on a shield, there are also five small shields in different colors namely, light blue and dark blue alternatively.

All the signs on the flag are important and represent the country very well symbolically, firstly the color red, is for blood of all those martyrs and people who lost their lives or contributed towards freedom, white color shows the nature of Croats which is as peaceful as lambs, the blue color is belief of Croatia in God. Croatia calls the checkers on its shield as chessboard (sahovnica), and the symbol of shield was used by almost all the Croatian kings of the country. Five small shields on the top of this shield gives identification to all the five main regions that form the country of Croatia. The chessboard has 13 red and 12 white checks. Croatia flag is one of the latest because it was accepted in the year 1990, before it earned its freedom from Yugoslavia.
