Flags of Denmark

The flag of Denmark consists of two colors namely: red and white. Red is the base color of the flag and there is an uneven white cross. The vertical stripe of the cross shifts to the left side and the horizontal stripe equally divides the flag right on the center. The uneven cross on the flag signifies the cross that was being visualized by the Danish King which has represents future victory. The color red sets as base symbolizes sky turned into dark and the battle which will be bloody that will be done the next day. The putting of the cross on the flag was being adopted by countries such as: Norway, Finland, Iceland and Sweden.

It was on the year 1625 that the Danish flag was officially adopted. The Danish flag is considered to be the oldest flag national flag that has been continuously used in the world. There was a legend that said the On June 15, 1219, Danish flag fell on earth from the skies which was the day that King Waldemar II won the battle over the Estonians. The historians think differently, they said that the flag of Denmark was derived from the old crusader's banners.
