Flags of Djibouti

The flag of Djibouti is composed of four colors namely: blue, green, white and red. The design of the flag is that there two stripes in horizontal form and of equal size and length. The blue stripe is on top and the green color is on the bottom of Djibouti flag. A white isosceles triangle in white color is placed on the left side of the flag that points right to the center. On the triangle, there is a red star placed at the center.

The blue stripe signifies the sky and the sea. The green stripe represents the earth. The white isosceles triangle symbolizes peace. Lastly, the red star represents unity and the five areas of Somalis. These are the following: Northeastern Kenya, Ogaden, French Somaliland, Italian Somaliland and British Somaliland. On June 27, 1977, the flag of Djibouti was officially adopted. It was on the same date that Djibouti became an independent country and no longer under France.
