Flags of Eritrea

Eritrea was awarded to Ethiopia in 1952. The struggle for independence by Eritrea ended in the year1991. It is located in eastern Africa. It’s neighboring countries are Djibouti and Sudan. It’s coast line is formed by red sea. It’s population mainly consists of Muslim, Coptic Christian, roman catholic and protestant. The flag of Eritrea has a total of four colors they are red, green, blue and yellow. The flag is divided into three triangles. The hoist side of the flag forms the base of one triangle and the tip of this triangle is on the midpoint of the side opposite to the hoist side. The above described triangle is red in color. The triangle in the upper side and lower side are in red and blue color respectively.

A yellow wreath symbol is used in the red triangle on the flag of Eritrea .The Eritrean colors do not have any relation with neighboring countries. The colors used in the flag can be interpreted as, the green color represents agriculture and livestock economy, red represents bloodshed in struggle for independence, blue represents the marine wealth and yellow represents the mineral wealth of the country. The flag was officially adopted on 5 December 1995.
