Finland is the northwestern country on the European continent. It’s neighboring countries are Soviet Union, Norway, Sweden. It’s coast line is formed by Gulf of Finland, Baltic Sea, Gulf of Bothnia. The flag has been endorsed on May 29,1918. The flag of Finland can be pictorially described as, it has a white back ground with an off centered blue cross. The colors and symbols used in the Finland’s flag can be interpreted as, white represents the snow, and blue represents the blue skies and thousands of lakes in Finland.

The blue cross is also called as Scandinavian cross, as it was used in most of the Scandinavian flags. The cross is off-centered, as the vertical part of the stripe is moved to the hoist side. Day of Finnish flag. It is celebrated on Midsummer, i.e. the Saturday between June 20 and June 26. Midsummer is a traditional feast from the pre-Christian times.
