Gambia is accepted in 1965. The flag of the country represents a canvas with three strips placed horizontally. The top strip is in red colour, the average is blue and the below strip is green. The red colour is accepted in 1965 and means the sun in the sky; blue colour symbolizes the river Gambia, and green - the ground of the country.
Gambia is a state in the Western Africa at the coast of Atlantic Ocean. It’s capital is Banjul. Administratively the territory of the country is divided on 6 districts. About 85 % of the population are Moslems, 4 %-Christians; and the others adhere to the traditional local beliefs. The main national holiday is on 18 February – the Day of declaration of independence (in 1965). |
