Flags of Georgia

Georgia flag is composed of four colors: reed, white, blue and gold. The flag has three horizontal stripes and one square. From the left side it has a blue square at the centers it has a gold state coat of arms which is being surrounded with thirteen white stars. The arms consist of an arch that has three pillars on it. Right on top of the gold arch is a written word which is "constitution". There is a banner which is wrapped right around the pillars with the state's motto in this manner: wisdom, justice and moderation. There is a man standing right in front of the arch who is very well prepared to defend the state's constitution. The written words which are located beneath the arms are "In God we Trust".

The Georgia flag consists of thirteen stars; these stars symbolize Georgia being part of the thirteen colonies of the US. The three pillars in the arch signify the executive, legislative and judicial as branches of the government. The year 1776 symbolizes the Declaration of Independence being signed. On May 8, 2003, the current flag was formally adopted by Georgia. The fourth state who formed part of the union is Georgia. On January 2, 1788, Georgia gained statehood.
