Guinea
Guinea is accepted in a 1958. The flag of the country is a canvas with three vertically located isometric bars. In the foundation of the flag there is a bar of red colour, in the middle – yellow, the bar of green colour follows further.
Accepted in 1958 the colours of the flag of Guinea are repeated by the colours of the flag of Ghana and are the traditional colours of the African flags. The red colour of flag symbolizes the blood, spilled in the fight for freedom, yellow – colour of Guinean gold and sun, the green presented an African nature. In addition, every colour corresponds to the three words of the motto of Guinea: red – “Labour”, yellow is “Justice”, green is “Solidarity”.
Guinea is located in the Western Africa at the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, which washes 300-kilometre strongly cut up coastline. Till 1958 year Guinea was a colony of France, now is a presidential republic with the population of about 7,4 million people.
The official language is French. The greater part of Guinea lies in a subequatorial belt. The territory of the country is located within the limits of the ancient African platform, broken by numerous secret breaks with the yields of the volcanic rocks. |
