Flags of Guyana

Guyana flag is the most geometrically designed flag consisting of two triangles within each other, and thin borders separating these triangles are in white. The Guyana flag can also be called most colorful because it consists of bright colors, red, black, yellow, white and green exactly in the same order. From the left hand side begins a red colored triangle with the tip towards middle, there is a black colored stripe and the red colored triangle is inside yellow colored triangle separated from green by a white border. The red triangle is also called the arrow head.

The rich colors are used as symbols in the Guyana flag, the symbols pertain to the main source of income and profession of the people, the mineral wealth, beliefs and future plans of the country. that is country’s main profession is agriculture is shown by color green, the land of this country is rich in mineral wealth is shown by color golden, and people of Guyana also dream of their golden future. Attitude as to enthusiasm and eagerness of people is shown by color red, white reflects never ending supply of water that the country is gifted with. Guyana people are enduring and gifted with patience this is highlighted through the color black in the Guyana flag. Guyana was actually a British colony with the name of Guiana however, after independence citizens chose to use name Guyana and the flag was officially accepted in the year 1966.
