Flags of Indiana

Indiana state is divided into several; cultural regions. The Indiana in itself is divided into northern Indiana, central Indiana and southern Indiana. It was explored by Frenchman Robert Cavelier. The flag of Indiana was officially adopted in 1917. The flag was an outcome of the winner in a contest held by Daughters of American Revolution. The flag of Indiana can be pictorially described as it consists of two colors, they are blue and yellow. On the blue background the symbol of torch in yellow color represents liberty and enlightment.

There are some stars in yellow color around the torch. The thirteen stars forming a ring around the torch represents the next five states to join the Union. The largest star in the flag represents Indiana. The flag was designed by Paul Hadley of Mooresville. The word “Indiana” is placed above the torch between the outer circle of thirteen stars and inner circle of six stars. Rays from the torch are radiated on each side of the star in the upper center of the circle. Indiana is another state which form 50 states of the United States of America.
