Jordan
Jordan is accepted in 1928. The flag of the country represents a canvas with three horizontal equal strips of black, white and green colours. From the basis of the flag the equipotent triangle of crimson colour is located. Inside of the triangle the seven-end star of white color is placed.
The Flag of Jordan is accepted in 1928 and it has in the basis a banner of the "Great Arabian revolution" in 1916. According to the official version colours of the three strips symbolize three dynasties: Abbasid, Amaya and Fatimid, while the crimson triangle means the Hashemit dynasty. The seven-end star in the centre of the triangle symbolizes the union of Arabs in Jordan.
The state is located in the southwest part of Asia. It borders with Saudi Arabia in the east and in the south, in the east - with Iraq, in the West - with Israel and Palestine, in the north - with Syria. In the south the small part of the territory is washed by Gulf of Akaba.
In the east of the country mainly are located deserted plateaus. In the west there is a height. The Great Valley of Gorges separates the east and the western coast of Jordan by the main river of the country. Near the biggest lake of the country - the Dead Sea - there is a lowland with the deepest in the world a hollow of the land - Ghor. |
