Flags of Kansas

Kansas is a Midwestern state in the central region of unite states of America. It is names after the river Kansas, which in turn was named after the tribe Kansa meaning “people of the wind”. It’s neighboring countries are Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado. Kansas is one of the slowest growing states. The people of Kansas are migrating to cities, which is called as rural exodus. The flag of Kansas can be pictorially described as, it consists of a dark blue background with the great seal of Kansas in the middle of the flag. The seal of Kansas is surmounted by a crest and the word “Kansas” is located under the seal. The crest is located on a wreath or an azure (blue sky).

A sunflower as torn from its stalk. The Kansas is imprinted in gold block letters below the seal. The seal contains stars in silver, hills in purple, sun in deep yellow, glory in light yellow, sky in yellow, grass in green, river in light blue, boat in white, house in dark brown, buffalo in black. The flag depicts the peaceful co-existence between natives and newly arrived. In the seal a farmer is plowing his field and Native American hunting bison, a steamboat in Kansas River represents commerce of the state.
