Inside the yellow sun is an emblem in circular form which is termed as "yurt" or otherwise known as a tent roof. A tent roof is a tent traditionally used by the nomads known as Kirghiz. The sun on the flag of Kuwait signifies eternity, light and infinite nobility. The base red color was believed to symbolize the color that represents Manas the Noble, the country's national hero.
