Malaysia was accepted in 1963. The flag of the country is a canvas with seven red and six white horizontal bars. A canton of navy is located in the left upper corner. In the canton a half moon and fourteen-ended star of yellow color are placed.Accepted in 1963, the thirteen red-white bars are symbolized by the thirteen provinces of Malaysia.
The navy blue canton means the unity of the country’s people. The half moon is a symbol of Islam, the state religion of Malaysia. The star with fourteen rays is a symbol of the thirteen provinces and the federal center. The yellow of these symbols represents the power of Malaysia’s king.
This country is in South-east Asia. The country is parted on two regions: Western Malaysia, located on the south extremity of the peninsula Malakk, and East Malaysia, being in the north part of island of Borneo (Kalimantan). Western Malaysia in the north abuts with Thailand, in the south - with Singapore, in west it is washed by Malakks channel, on the east - by the South-Chinese sea. East Malaysia on the south and west abuts with Indonesia, in the north - with Brunei.
