The colors of the Massachusetts flag are white, dark blue, yellow, which symbolize a hope, peace and prosperity. American Indian is a symbol of the native population of the state. The arrow of the American Indian, turned downward is also an aspiring symbol of peace, but simultaneously it is a sign of the willingness to protect the freedom. The white star is a reminder that Massachusetts was a member of the first thirteen states, forming Anti-English coalition in the period of the war for independence.
