Flags of Namibia

The flag of Namibia is one of the most attractive flags, the diagonally placed stripes are in the color of blue, red and green, in the same order, however blue stripe and the green stripe differ from the red stripe in size, blue and red stripe are separated from each other with a white stripe which is very thin. The flag also contains a sun, which is golden in color and emanates 12 rays which originate from the sun itself.

Each color of a flag is always chosen with a reason, this flag has been described by Namibia National Symbol as paying its tribute and showing how important people of Namibia are for the country, and this is shown through the color red, the color also has been chosen to highlight the good points of the people like bravery and their wish that they should be equal. Agriculture too is important in the country and the color green symbolizes it. Preciousness of water is shown by water and rain and sky and the Pacific Ocean. The sun has been used in the flag to pay respect to the life and the energy provided by the sun. Namibia was previously known as South West Africa, which was actually a part of South Africa, after they gained freedom in the 1990, the present Namibian flag was adopted.
