New York is the most important state in the United States of America, the flag of New York was subjected to change since first coming into existence in 1901 about five times, the flag has the most important sign of the USA, the statue of Liberty and also Justice, it also contains a bald eagle, thce flag base is blue with a coat of arms originated as a revolutionary war sign, in the middle, on both sides of the coat of arms is the Hudson river with two ships. The coat of arms was last changed in the year 1820, it has ever been the same since then.

The state shield on the flag of New York is supported by Statue of Liberty and Justice, justice is shown blindfolded with a scale of justice in one hand and the other hand holds the sword which faces upwards. The motto on the New York flag is ‘Excelsior’ which means ‘always upwards’. The flag of New York also uniquely shows the country to which it belongs, on the upper side of the flag there is the globe, which shows a highlighted USA. This was also one of the 13 states that originally joined together to become the USA.
