Nigeria is located in the Western Africa. Its neighboring countries are Benin and Cameroon. Its coastline is formed by Gulf of Guinea. The country’s main natural resource is its arable land. Its natural hazards are flooding and periodic droughts. The country’s main river is Niger River. The country has three types of vegetation forests, savannah and Montana land. The flag of Nigeria is divided into three stripes vertically. The colors used in the flag of Nigeria are green and white. The white color stripe is sandwiched between the two green color stripes.

Nigeria flag was accepted and used, i.e hoisted for the first time on 1st October 1960, the design accepted was the one created by student named Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi. The colors used in the Nigeria’s Flag can be interpreted as, the two green color stripes represent the agriculture, and the white color strip in the middle represents peace and unity. Nigeria flag goes a ceremonious hoisting every day, sharp at 0600 hours and evening at 1800 hours, i.e. the sunrise time and the sunset time of the country.
