North Carolina flag includes all the colors of the United States flag into itself. The colors used are blue, white and red, not necessarily in that order, there is an official emblem placed in the left hand side middle of the blue stripe. Flag of North Carolina has one vertical stripe which is blue in color and two horizontal stripes, upper stripe is red in color and the lower stripe is white in color. The emblem consists of two scrolls between which there is a white five pointed star, the star is placed between two letters N and C which stand for the state name ‘North Carolina’.
The scrolls contain dates that are most important historically, the upper scroll contains the date 20th May 1775, the date refers to Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, through this declaration the state became independent. Another date is 12 April 1776, which stands for the day on which Halifax Resolves were made. |
