The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea is accepted in 1948. The flag of North Korea represents three horizontal strips of the dark blue and red colors and a white line separated them from each other. From above the dark blue strip is located, under it - red, below - dark blue again.The proportions of strips and lines: 6: 2: 17: 2: 6. On the red strip to the left of the centre the white circle in which is placed the five-ended star of red color.
The dark blue color is accepted in 1948 and symbolizes the aspiration of people to the peace, red is a symbol of revolutionary spirit and the struggle for the socialism, white is traditional Korean color - means cleanliness and independence of Northern Korea. The white circle, probably, is a reminiscence of the symbol Tegun. The red star in the white circle means the people of the country, working under the direction of the Korean Working party.
The Northern Korea is a state in the northeast of Asia, borrowing the northern part of the Korean peninsula. In the north it borders with China, in northeast - with Russia, in the south - with Republic Korea (South Korea). From the international legal point of view the there is no military-line of demarcation border between the North and the South Korea. In the east it is washed by the Sea of Japan, in the West – by the Yellow Sea. |
