Oklahoma
Oklahoma is located in the south central United States. It’s neighboring countries are Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Mexico and Texas. It has a very diverse ecological regions. It has no coastline, it is land locked. Arkansas river, Canadian river and red river are major rivers of Oklahoma. Oklahoma has a fertile, flat plains and low hills. Oil and natural gas are the natural resources of the country. Oklahoma host a large herd of cattle and wheat fields.
The flag of Oklahoma can be pictorially described as, it has a sky blue background over it a circular raw hide shield of American Indian warrior is depicted. The shield is decorated with six painted crosses on the lower side of the shield. Seven eagle feathers are hanged. A calumet or peace pipe is depicted over the shield and an olive branch is also depicted at 90 degrees to the pipe.
Below the shield the name of the country ”Oklahoma” is imprinted in white letters on the flag of Oklahoma. The flag of Oklahoma was officially adopted on April 2, 1925. The shield is decorated with crosses symbolizing high ideals. The calumet and olive branches represent the peace and unity of Native American and European American. |
