Oregon is present in northwestern part of United States of America. It’s neighboring countries are Washington, California, Nevada, Idaho. It’s coastline is formed by pacific ocean. Oregon is the leading provider of timber in unites states. The nickname of the Oregon state is beaver state. Columbia River, Deschutes, Willamette River, John Day River, Snake River are the major rivers of the state.
The flag of Oregon was first adopted in the year 1925. The flag can be described as, it has a navy blue background. On the navy blue background “state of Oregon” is written in gold letters. A state symbol is imprinted below the gold letters. The year “1859” is imprinted below the state seal in golden color. The shield is a part of the state symbol around which 33 stars are present.
On the reverse side of the flag of Oregon a beaver is imprinted. The meaning of the flag is, the 33 stars represent that Oregon is the 33rd state in the union. The following can be seen in the state seal of Oregon; mountains, an elk with branching antlers, a wagon, the Pacific Ocean, on which there are a British man-of-war departing and an American steamer arriving. |
