Flags of Paraguay

Flag of Paraguay consists of three horizontal stripes each of a different color, which are red, white and blue in same order. With a state seal and emblem in the middle of the flag, therefore has been included in the white. The emblem is not similar at all sides or at different dimensions, the emblem includes symbol of more than one thing, on the left hand side the emblem has the emblem of the coat of arms of the country, there is also a five pointed star which depicts the name of the country, this name appears within the circles that are around the seal, ‘ Republica Del Paraguay’ on the right hand side is the seal of the treasury which includes a lion, and the words Paz Y Justicia which means peace and justice.

The representations of the colours are as follows. Red stands for patriotism, courage, heroism, equality and justice. White stands for purity, firmness, union and peace and blue for tranquility, love, knowledge, verity and liberty. Flag of Paraguay also represents peace through the olive branch and honor through the palm branch, liberty in the flag is shown through the treasury seal and the lion guards both independence and freedom of the country by guarding the cap of liberty. Paraguay flag is one of the oldest flags in history, the flag came into existence in the year 1842, though Paraguay has earned freedom from Spain in year 1811. Leader by the name of Jose de Francia during early times made it a practice to use a different emblem on each side of the flag.
