Russian flag consists of white at the top, blue in the middle and red at the bottom, three colored bands horizontally placed on the flag. The Russian flag was designed, based on the flag of the Netherlands.
The Russian flag has also inspired the flags of many Slavic nations of Europe, and the colors of the Russian flag are often referred to as the pan-Slavic colors. They represent Slavic independence and unity.
There is no official meaning of to the Russian flag but some Russians believe the followings. White color in Russia flag stands for depicting generosity and frankness.
Blue color represents loyalty, wisdom, honesty and the color red stands for courage and love. However, there is also another meaning to the Russian flag, it mentions the red color is for Russians, Ukranians are white color in flag and Belo Russians are the blue color.
There have been rumblings of a flag change in Russia over the past few years and most of the designs are based on the color red as it is a national color of Russia. In the year 1991 Russian flag was officially adopted, before the country became an independent state and a member of the United Nations. |
