There are three colors in the flag red, blue and white, there are three stars on the flag inside blue circle with a white border, the stars, too are in the color white. The background color of the flag of Tennessee is red.

The State of Tennessee has three different geographically marked regions, the lowlands, highlands and mountainous regions in the east, the stars in the Tennessee flag depict these three regions. It is also said that the three stars represent that Tennessee is the third state to join the original thirteen states of United States of America. Flag of Tennessee depicts undivided unity, and this is put together and shows through the stars in the middle surrounded by the circle. The flag was adopted in 1905. Tennessee actually became a state long before the flag came into existence that is in 1796.
