The State of Texas is also known as the “Lone Star State’ and not without a reason, the flag of Texas has a single star of color white, though the rest of the flag in in colors red, blue and white. White and the red are horizontal stripes of equal size on the left side is a vertical blue colored stripe consisting of the star in the middle of this stripe. All three colors have been chosen to depict the soul of the state, the white color stands for purity of the state, blue color in the flag depicts that the state is loyal to USA and the red color in the flag of texas stands for bravery above all.

Initially this flag was the flag of Republic of Texas which formed in the year 1839, however, later when Texas became part of the United States of America, same flag was adopted as the State of Texas flag, however this was in the year 1845. Texas flag too has been subject to modifications, the flag at present was last modified in the year 1993. Texas joined the USA in 1845, it was the 28th state among all states to do so.
