Flags of Togo

Togo is located in the western Africa. it’s neighboring countries are Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana. It’s coastline is formed by gulf of guinea, north Atlantic ocean and bight of Benin. The county has two savanna plains and is divided into six geographic regions. The largest lake of the country is named Togo. Periodic droughts and hamattan winds are the natural hazards of the country. It’s natural resources are phosphates, limestone and marble.

The flag of Togo was officially endorsed on April 27, 1960. The flag of Togo has four colors in it green, yellow, red and white. There are three horizontal green stripes and two horizontal yellow stripes placed alternatively. A white star is imprinted in a red square box on the top half of the hoist side. The meaning of the flag is the five-pointed white star represents the “star of hope”. The red background represents the blood shed by the countrymen during the fight for independence. The green stripes represent the country’s natural agricultural wealth and yellow stripes represent country’s mineral wealth. The five horizontal stripes represent the five horizontal regions of Togo.
