Flags of Wyoming

Women of Wyoming should be proud of their State because this was the state which gave women equal rights to vote, and therefore, the state was also nicknamed as the ‘Equality State’. The Wyoming flag consists of red, blue, white and black. The border of the Wyoming flag is red in color and separated from the blue inner background by which border inside the red border. Wyoming is a modern state, the Wyoming flag shows branding, it also shows a mammal, a bison on the flag, in the center of the bison is the seal of the state. Inside the seal there is a woman holding banner of ‘Equal rights’ and there are also two men on sides, each of the man represents a different industry, one represents mining and the other represents the cattle industry in the state. Presence of an eagle, a star and a number 44 on Wyoming flag depicts loyalty of the state to USA and that the state was 44th in joining the USA.

Colors inside the flag too contain a meaning, red stands for the Native Americans and blood of those who were initially pioneers for the State. White depicts all that is pure and important including, fidelity, justice, virility, etc. Shield also contain two dates which are of great historical significance to the state of Wyoming one date of the flag of Wyoming is 1869, this was then Wyoming formed its own territorial Government, and the other one was the 1890, which depicts the year in which Wyoming became part of the USA. The current flag was adopted in the year 1917, however the seal has been subject to some changes since then.
