It is located in southern Africa. It’s neighboring counties are south Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique. It is a landlocked country, it has no coastline. The climate of Zimbabwe is moderate due to altitude. It’s natural resources are coal, chromium, platinum, gold, nickel, vanadium and iron ore. The natural hazards to the country are recurring droughts. The country has environmental related issues like heavy metal pollution.
The flag of Zimbabwe was officially endorsed on 18 April 1980. The colors used in flag of Zimbabwe are green, yellow, red, black and white. The flag is divided into seven stripes. An order of green, yellow and green stripes are repeated twice. The center stripe is black. A triangle in white with one of its sides on the hoist side of the flag can be seen. Inside the white triangle a five-pointed star in red and a Zimbabwe bird in yellow are present.
Yellow represents country’s mineral wealth. Green stand for country’s vegetation and natural resources. Red stands for blood shed by countrymen for independence. Black represents people of Zimbabwe. White triangle stands for peace. The red star stands for internationalism. |
