Its divided into 4 unofficial geographic regions. These regions are known as Kosta, Uttarandhra, Telegana and Rayalseema. It shares its borders with Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh as stated in Andhra Pradesh maps. Andhra Pradesh or what was known as Princely state of Hyderabad was ruled by the Nizams during the British time. The Nizams ruled it as an autonomous region while ceding favors to the British. The Nizam wanted the state to become a part of Pakistan, but was forced to cede to India during Partition.
Tourism industry in Andhra Pradesh is known for many religious spots as well as natural beauty. There are many hills such as Simhachalam, AnnvaramSrisailam hill ranges and Tirumalai-Tirupati hills.
