Travel Maps of Bhutan

Bhutanese maps show Bhutan as one of the tiniest countries of the world.

Bhutan is a smallest and the last Buddhist kingdom of the world.

It lies on the Himalayan slopes and lies between India and China, both of whom are key economic contributors to the country.

The country is very mountainous and its capital, Thimpu is the largest city and its capital city.

Almost 90% of the county is covered in pristine forests.The Bhutanese know their country as ‘Land of Thunder Dragon’ and it traces its history back to AD450.

Guru Rinpoche is said to have bought the Mahayana sect of Buddhism to Bhutan in the eight century. The two major populations in Bhutan are ethnic Nepalis and Drupka. The map of Bhutan has remained fairly unchanged during the past few centuries.

Tourism industry in Bhutan is highly regulated. Most foreigners and visitors to the country have to travel on a pre planned and pre paid basis. The number of foreigners entering the country is also regulated.

The country is covered in beautiful forests and splendid Himalayan slopes. The majestic beauty is breath taking.There is a lack of infrastructure and tourism is extremely regulated. Travel destinations in Bhutan are very few.

There are beautiful Buddhist monasteries and the village life with its simple life is present. The Kingdom of Bhutan is enchanting and worth a visit.
