Cameroon is called “Africa in miniature”, probably because it is a sample of the continent in the world map;
In the Cameroon map it has volcanic highlands, mountains, jungle, rivers, coastal plains, savanna, and rain forest. It has about 150 various ethnic groups spread across the country. In recent times, poverty and corruption have prevented Cameroon from utilizing its resources fully.
From the maps of Cameroon it is deduced that it is located in Western Africa, with a coastline of almost 400 km. Some of the countries in the map which borders are Chad and Nigeria. Its terrain is well diverse with plains in the north, mountains in the west, and a plateau in its center. Its official languages are French and English.
The top cities in Cameroon map are Yaounde, Buea, and Douala. Some of Cameroon’s attractions include Mount Cameroon, the tallest peak in Western Africa;
Dja Faunal Reserve, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage listings; sultan palaces; beaches; waterfalls; etc. Within Cameroon itself, one can travel to Cameroon by air conditioned modern buses between the major cities. In the rural areas, Cameroon tourism industry is not so well set so only minivans are available.
Cameroon is well connected by air to European countries such as Paris, Amsterdam and Zurich and thus supports Cameroon tourism. There is a train service from Yaounde to Douala as well. All in all, a great place to visit.
