Tekrur kingdom was ruled Gambia in 1066. In 1618, the British companies were come to Gambia and established their business. The Gambia got independence from British on 18th February 1965.
Gambia is a very smallest country with 48 kilo meter wide. The total map area is 11,300 square kilo meter only. The Senegal River is located in east, north and south side of Gambia and west side covered by Atlantic Ocean. The Senegal River is the most famous tourist place in Gambia maps. In 1889, the agreement between France and United Kingdom determines the boundaries of Gambia.
The Capital city of Gambia is Banjul. Gambia is the smiling coast of Africa. Gambia is attracting the tourists by the way of sun, sand, sea and their cultural experiences. It is six hours travel to Gambia from any European countries. During November to February is the best time to visit Gambia. Due to rain, the Gambia tourism industry is not interested to visit Gambia in winter season. In the rainy season, the roads are inaccessible and diseases like malaria were widespread. So Gambia tourism is not at peek here but still people enjoy there holidays.
