Haryana has been ruled by many princely states in India. It was earlier ruled by the princely states of Patiala and other Punjabi principalities. It was part of Punjab and then the Hindi speaking areas were carved into a separate entity. It has been ruled by Tomars, Prithiviraj Chauhan and the British. During the recent times it has contributed significantly to the Green and White revolution.
Chandigarh is the capital of both Haryana and Punjab and is in fact a Union territory. It’s a city that has been well planned and laid out. Other travel destinations in Haryana include Rohtak, Kurukshetra and Gurgaon.
Gurgaon bordering Delhi has come up significantly in the recent times and is a new glitzy town. It has many call centers of leading international companies and generates a lot of revenue. The service industry is extremely strong here. There are many malls here which are very popular with the residents of Delhi and Gurgaon. The tourism industry in Haryana is very good.
