Jordan came into being after the WW1, when its borders were decided by the British and the French.
The map of Jordan has undergone many changes after that.
Jordan is an Arab state that has Israel, Syria, Iraq ad Saudi Arabia as its neighbors. It’s a completely land locked country but over looks the Dead Sea.Amman is the capital of the country, but in the Roman times, it was known as Philadelphia. In 1921, it was created out of the then Ottoman empire and was made a monarchy under King Abdullah Ibn Hussein.
He was assassinated in 1951 and his grandson, King Hussein became the King. Jordanian maps of earlier times show that it was a major centre in the Roman Empire.
Visit Jordan during the autumn season or spring as it can get very hot in the summer months. There are many beautiful travel destinations in Jordan. The ruins of Petra which are more than 2500 years old are beautiful.
Visit the Dead Sea, it’s very salty and there is no chance of sinking in the sea.There are many eco tourism projects that are operated by Government of Jordan especially in Dana, Wadi Mujib and Ajlun nature reserves.
You can also take a camel safari ride and see the country side and the old way f living which was the Bedouin way of living. The tourism industry of Jordan is been promoted by the King himself.
