Kentucky’s climate can be described as Hot Humid. However, often you will see sudden variations in the climate and temperature on the same day. It has two National Recreation areas, one national park, two National Historic Parks, two national forests, 45 state parks, 82 Wildlife Management Areas and 37,696 acres of state forest.
Kentucky tourism has one of the longest systems of caves in the world, the Mammoth Cave. This cave has 360 miles of charted galleries. Kentucky State has three major natural lakes and many artificial lakes. It also has one of the largest man made lakes on the Mississippi River. Kentucky State is also famous for travel, horse racing, bluegrass music, bourbon distilleries, automobile manufacturing, college basketball and tobacco. Kentucky State has several sports teams like AAA Louisville Bats, Minor League Baseballs Class A Lexington Legends, Frontier Leagues Florence Freedom and several others.
