Liguria
The map of Liguria reveals that it is a costal region. The state of Liguria lies in the north western region of Italy, and it happens to be the third smallest region when it comes to size in Italy which can be clearly seen in the map of Liguria. The capital of the state is Genoa and the total size of the state is only 5,420 square kilometers. And has a population of about 1.5 million inhabitants.The map of Liguria will show that Liguria has France to its west, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna to its east and Piedmont to its north. The state is divided into four provinces which are Genoa, Imperia, La Spezia and Savona. The name Liguria dates back all the way to the pre-Roman area.
Some of the major contributors to the countries economy are Liguria’s tourism, wine making, fisheries, olive oil production and various industrial sectors. Italy used to be more of a heavy industry based economy but now it is moving in the direction of “light” industrial productions like software and computer technology and according to Liguria’s travel statistics the tourism business is doing well and is now expected to improve over time.
