Louisiana’s climate can be described as hot and humid. Its summer is hot and long, whereas the Winter season is mild and short. Tropical storms are common for Louisiana residents, and frequently they face major hurricanes and cyclones. Due to the geographical position of this region, even an average strength storm often becomes very destructive. Louisiana has its share of thunderstorms too. It faces more than 60 thunderstorms annually, which itself is a record for US states.
The only other state that surpasses Louisiana is Florida. Louisiana also faces 27 tornadoes each year. All these factors make Louisiana’s climate extremely dangerous, and probably a biggest turn-on (or turn-off) for tourists. Some popular tourist places in Louisiana are Aquarium of the America, Mardi Gras and Jazz Museum, French Market, Garden District Jackson Square, Ruelle dOrleans and Vieux Carré (French Quarter). One interesting thing is that there are no national parks in this State.
