The history of the country goes as far as 963AD when Siegfried bought Lucilinburhuc (Luxembourg Castle).
Luxembourg maps are very distinct and make it a land locked country. For their distinct features the land is categorized into the following. The ‘Oesling’ is the hilly and mountainous zone. The ‘Gutland’ includes the ‘Luxembourg Plateau’- of sandstone, Little Switzerland (with thick forests and stony regions), Moselle Valley, and the Redlands. Generally, Luxembourg has a marine west coast climate with lots of precipitation (rain, snow).
Luxembourg tourist destinations include the National Museum of History and Art (MNHA), the History Museum of the City of Luxembourg, and the new Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art (Mudam). The National Museum of Military History (MNHM) in Diekirch also features tourist attractions in Luxembourg. Because of its historical (and current as well) importance the UNESCO has included it in its World heritage Sites list. Luxembourg tourist attractions include various EU and global institutions (e.g. The Commission of the European Community, Court of Justice, general Secretariat of the European Parliament, European Investment Bank, European Court of Auditors etc). The Nuclear Safety Administration, with uranium refineries is included in the list of Luxembourg tourist attractions for the world.
