Madhya Pradesh evolved from the ancient Malwa region originally inhabited by various tribal clans and later ruled by various dynasties like the Guptas, Sungas, Parmars and Moghuls with the Mauryan dynasty being the first ruling dynasty.

In the eighteenth century the Marathas ascended the throne but by 1817 the colonialist British rulers took over completely. After the independence the state of Madhya Pradesh was created in 1956. Now we take a look at the map of Madhya Pradesh.
