Geographically Meghalaya is also known as the Meghalaya plateau. It is famous for its archean rock formations and these rocks provide variety of minerals like coal, petroleum, uranium, limestone etc. It is the wettest state of India and the climate is moderate but humid. Best time to visit this cloudy state is during March to July.
Meghalaya tourism industry ensures that the people especially foreigners do not face any problem or restrictions for visiting this place. Earlier there were some restrictions but from 1955 onwards there are no restrictions at all. Meghalaya is famous for its two national parks and three wildlife sanctuaries.

Meghalaya is a very adventurous place and it is worth coming. Tourism industry makes tourists travel comfortably by providing different services because roads are not well made and also the state has poor communicating network.
