The name Montana comes from a Spanish term, which literally means “Mountain”. Some other nicknames for Montana State are "Land of Shining Mountains", "Big Sky Country” and "Treasure State". The State’s famous sogan is “”the last best place”.
The State’s economy is based on lumber and mineral extraction and agriculture. It’ ranks fourth in US as per the area, but has the third lowest population density. Tourism is very important for its economy, and thousands of visitors visit this picturesque State annually. The most frequently visited spots are the Battle of Little Bighorn site, the Glacier National Park (with 50 glaciers and more than 200 lakes and streams) and the Yellowstone National Park which has crystal clear lakes, huge waterfalls, and wild animals like bears, elks, coyotes and birds.
